Joyce is running a beauty shop in Nkhata Bay and, at the same time, she is working hard to improve her skills in the art of beauty. Ideally she would like to become a make up artist, hairdresser for wedding events. She just started following an advanced course in Mzuzu, but there are school fees, a room and food to pay. Moreover, once back in Nkhata Bay, she will have to stock up her shop too. This time she will have to make sure to do that via a reliable supplier too.
Up until now, she was ordering through Tanzania, but things did not go exactly fine. The products were cheap and everyone was happily buying them, till police showed up. Those products were counterfeited and therefore they were confiscated. Joyce had to pay a huge fine (300.000 Kwa, approximately 150 EUR) to bail herself out. She was to say the least devastated by this.
Joyce had no idea what a counterfeit product is. She had never heard of them. Moreover, the policemen who emptied her shop where the same that till the day before were buying her products too. All is well what ends well, but not we do need a cake to keep being positive!!!
